An easy pork burger for the mid-week craze 🙂
Ingredients:
700g lean pork mince
1 onion, finely chopped
1/2 bunch parsley, roughly chopped
1 small carrot, peeled and grated
1 egg
100ml smokey BBQ sauce
2 slices bread, torn
4 tbsp milk
Oil for cooking
4 burger buns, toasted if desired
1/2 cup quality mayonnaise
1/2 cup American mustard
1 slice of bacon rashes for each burger, baked
2 tomatoes, sliced
Lettuce leaves
Instructions:
If you have the luxury of owning a food processor, you can place the onion, parley and carrot in the food processor and let it chop for you. It will take less than a minute, makes life so much easier!
Place pork mince, onion, parsley, carrot, egg and BBQ sauce in a large bowl.
In a small bowl, combine bread and milk and allow to soak for 5 minutes. Mash with a fork.
Combine the bread mixture with the pork and combine well (you may want to use your hands for this). Season with salt and pepper.
Shape the mixture into large 150 – 200 g patties (depending upon the size of the burger bun).
Place the shaped burgers onto pre-heated griddle pan (or just normal pan) and cook on a medium heat for 5 minutes each side until cooked through.
Serve on a toasted bun with mayonnaise, mustard, sliced tomato and lettuce. If you want to have more kick to your burger, add a slice of bacon rashes to each burger. Bake the bacon for 12-15 minutes.
Mmmm…
Wow, so many ingredients!! Looks delicious 🙂
