Australia – VIC – Wilsons Promontory

I had the pleasure of spending a weekend together with some of the Young Adult group (MYAF) from my church (GRII) in Wilsons Promontory, Victoria, Australia. There were about 20+ of us and we started off early in the morning. Wilsons Promontory is close to 4 hours drive from Melbourne.

We started the day hiking to the summit of Mount Oberon. Many have described that the views at the summit as postcard perfect and panoramic views over Tidal River, the coast and offshore islands. You can read more about Mt. Oberon and the summit here and here.

The views at the summit of Mt. Oberon is indeed breathtaking. And I mean literally as we were gasping for breaths when we reached the top. The views were indescribable and priceless – I hope the photo below could give you a hint of that.

At the summit of Mt. Oberon. It was very foggy at the top. When it is not foggy, the view is AMAZING! I managed to capture this while the fog was moving.

After the hike, we headed to squeaky beach, which is only a short drive from Mt. Oberon. Yes, the sand did ‘squeak’ when you step on it. Fun! You can find out more about Squeaky beach here and here.

We spent the afternoon playing games and swimming. A few of us were just relaxing at the shades and had some interesting conversations. I loved taking photos at squeaky beach! The colour contrast between the clear blue water, the blue sky, the fine white sand and the greenery in the background was perfect! All these combined gave perfect postcard photos, such as the ones below.

The sun had almost set and it was time to head back to our lodging. After a good night rest, we needed to head back to Melbourne for our evening church service. We stopped by Agnes Falls on our way back to Melbourne. We were greeted by another amazing views at the lookout on the way to Agnes Falls.

Then, the Agnes Falls itself!

Agnes Falls. It was a shame that we are not allowed to get closer to the waterfall. We could only view this from a distance. Photo of waterfall from a distance is not as impressive as close-up. I was hoping to get smooth flows of water by slowing the shutter speed. This was all I could get. The photo was cropped to focus on the waterfall.

We were truly blessed for this trip. The breathtaking views from the top of Mt. Oberon, the laughter we had at Squeaky beach and the fellowship would be memories that last forever.

All photos were taken using:

Camera: Nikon D800,
Lens: Nikon 28mm f/1.8G,
Post-processing: Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.

Thanks for visiting my blog! Hope you have enjoyed the post! 🙂
