How nicely drawn are these cartoons! These will be my new logo for Snippets of Suri. For the past few days I have been working with an amazing artist to help me create a cartoon version of myself for my website’s logo. I worked with The Cartoonist, an extremely talented artist. I love the drawings she made! The price is very reasonable too and they were delivered within the time frame that she promised. If you’re looking to make cartoon versions of yourself or need some logos drawn, consider The Cartoonist, I highly recommend her services 🙂
Making these logos gave me flash back of when this blog first started. It was back in 2011 (I can’t believe that 7 years have passed!). I also embarked on my PhD journey the same year. I was very stressed throughout my PhD and to de-stress, I cooked, took photographs and shared the food with my friends. Seeing how happy my friends were when they ate my food helped me go through all the struggles I was having during my PhD. By God’s grace and providence, I successfully finished my PhD Thesis around March 2015 and graduated in August the same year.
Cooking and photography become my passions. I wanted to share these passions of mine with the online world and that’s how I started my blog. I called it ‘Snippets of Suri’ because this blog would contain little pieces of my life. I hope that these little snippets could encourage, inspire and motivate my readers. After my PhD, I had incredible opportunities to move to the USA and Canada for postdoctoral research jobs (although I have to say I had a lot of struggles in both postdocs – I will leave these stories for another post). The opportunities to travel heightened these passions.
I wasn’t an active blogger throughout the past 7 years due to the commitments I had to make for my PhD and Postdocs. However, I plan to be more active this year and hoping to post at least once a week. Hence, I made this logo as a way of reminding myself why I started this blog – to share my passions and hoping to encourage, inspire and motivate people through these little stories.
